When Katie & Liam decided to commission us to do their wedding, Mike and I were super pumped. This was a couple who was so excited about their day and had put a lot of effort into making everything totally reflect their personality. The result was an elegant, intimate day that was an absolute blast to shoot. Katies mom hand-picked the flowers and brought them all the way from Sasketchewan. They had vintage books donning every table, reflecting the couples eclectic literary tastes. Roopa, a close friend of the couple, officiated the wedding and recited their love story as as a spoken word poem, complete with jazzy piano backups adding crescendos and appropriate drama. Liam's niece, the very talented Kennedy, blessed the evening meal with a beautiful opera song. And Katie and Liam's friend Henry added to the romantic ambience of the cocktail hour by singing a few of the couples favourite songs. Not to mention the whole thing taking place at the absolutely fabulous Steam Whistle Brewery in downtown Toronto, Ontario. It's really amazing how many talented and loving friends these guys have around them, everything added to the absolutely perfect day.
I love the way these two look at eachother - Katie is stunningly elegant in her vintage style dress, she has a grace and beauty about her that Liam did not miss a single second of. No wonder he fell in love with at first sight!
Take a look at some of our favourite images from their day, and enjoy!
