After being wedding photographers for 8 years now, we've learned one thing - we absolutely love Love. And the epitome of Love, to us, is marriage. When you commit yourself to loving and cherishing and devoting yourself to another person for the rest of your life, that's really something. It's something to hold sacred and it's something to protect. So the fact that we get to photograph couples at the very beginning of this lifelong vow to eachother is really, truly an honour.
Now that Mike and I have two little girls of our own, our wedding photos are even more precious to us because we get to pass them on to our kids and it's like passing on proof of where it all started. Elizabeth & Blake's parents have left them a beautiful legacy, each set of parents are high school sweethearts, together since forever. I hope there is more and more new generations of couples recognize how beautiful it is to have that one-and-only, that one special person who is your everything and you are fully committed to them. And Elizabeth & Blake themselves are high school sweethearts, stepping out into the rest of their lives together.
We shot this wedding at the Ancaster Mill, one of our favourite venues around the Hamilton area. I wrote a blog on how lovely this wedding venue is, if you want to check it out.
This wedding was fully of the cutest little gaggle of flower girls I ever did see. I just adore how the oldest literally herds the little ones around. And the moments between Elizabeth and her dad? And her mom? Get your tissues out! I also love the way Elizabeth & Blake ate the same first slice of cake together, it's pretty freakin' cute.
Take a look at some of my favourite photos from their wedding day, enjoy!
I love this new trend of the bride seeing her father for the first time and having it be something separate and special. No matter what modern culture says, it's still deeply emotional for a Dad to see his daughter 'given away' to another dude.
The mother of the bride knew her daughter and husband were about to walk down the aisle and she just could not look she was so overwhelmed with happy emotions. It's the sweetest thing!
Father of the groom, also losing it. :)
