Kendra & Dave - Engagement Shoot, Tobermory, Ontario

June 10, 2014  •  1 Comment

When we met up with Kendra & Dave last year, we nearly jumped out of our seats when they asked if we'd be willing to go to Tobermory, Ontario for their engagement shoot. I was totally Oprah-yelling in my head when they suggested it (I was all like, Tobermorraaaaaaaay) and we were so excited when Easter Weekend rolled around and we were on our way. I have very fond memories of being up there as a child as we had a cottage there for awhile, so I was excited to share all my old memories with Mike. Kendra and Dave spend a lot of time up there as well, its just one of those places where you feel so grateful to live in such an enormous and beautiful country such as ours, its a four hour drive away and looks like nothing else in Ontario.

Our first stop was Little Cove. Kendra and Dave spend a lot of time in this secluded little cove on Georgian Bay. Since we had the craziest winter ever, the bay was still frozen in a lot of spots and it was cold...and windy...but sunny, and fun!

As you can see, these two have an absolute blast with each other. I love Kendra's big smile - and so does Dave!

One of the things we learned about Kendra and Dave, is not only are they both equally excited about their upcoming wedding, but their whole family is too. This is a shot of them cuddled up in a handmade quilt by Daves Grandma, and the cool iron heart was crafted by Kendra's Brother. Three cheers for crafty families!

On our way back into Tobermory, Mike spotted this fabulous patch of birch trees from the side of the road. Luckily these guys are good sports, because we had them tramping through some swampy areas, but it was totally worth it.

Next we headed over the little town of Tobermory. I was quite surprised by how many people were there on Easter Weekend, the town was just waking up from a deep-freeze and the restaurants were scrambling to serve all the unexpected guests. Kendra & Dave got some ice cream from the supermarket - we're pretty sure it was left over from last year, but it still works. Don't you love their t-shirts? An inside family joke that worked perfectly!

One of the things Kendra & Dave love to do together is fly kites. We headed over to Singing Sands beach - which was a little careworn after the winter, but it was so windy it was perfect for kite flying.

We had such a good time with these guys, I love how truly in love with each other they are, they were so much fun to hang out with. Can't wait till the wedding this summer!
