I've been on a bit of a small wedding kick lately, but I can't help but share some of these gems that Mike has captured over the last year. We're finding that more and more of our clients are coming to us with very low key, very intimate weddings and we absolutely love it. It's such an honour for Mike to be asked to be a part of such a small guest list. In Gillian and Alan's case, they knew they wanted a very low stress and quietly fun evening. Alan is a reserved kinda guy and they knew they needed the kind of photographer that would blend in easily with their guests. As passionate as Mike is (he can get kinda excited when he talks about wedding photography), he's super good at blending in at small events and people often forget he is even there - even when there are only 15 family members plus a stranger with a camera. It's part of the gift of a candid photographer and its something we really value about how we conduct ourselves on your big day.
Gillian & Alan's wedding took place on a cold December evening in the very romantic Jonathan's Fine Dining in Oakville, Ontario. This venue is a cozy haven in the wintertime with wonderful rich dark wooden beams and low candlelight. In other words, its a cozy haven with a wonderful vibe but it's also a delightful challenge from a photography standpoint, which Mike was totally up for.
Check out some of my favourite shots from this beautiful evening, Gillian & Alan were just beaming the whole night and it was so special. Enjoy!
