Ok, so we all know that this winter has been the craziest winter ever. Like, I love winter, but hoo-boy, it was hardly ever over -10C from December until now. And on Jenn & Dan's wedding day? -22. Needless to say, we kept to the indoors as much as possible, but we were so grateful that the sun was shining and because we were surrounded by the class and style of Cambridge Mill, not to mention our amazing clients, it was a truly beautiful wedding day.
Jenn and Dan are truly a sweet couple, who just adore eachother. They met in a library and I have to say I have the most romantic visions of them catching eachothers eyes through the nook and cranny of a giant bookshelf. I don't know if thats even close to what happened, but meeting in a library is pretty awesome. Love blooms when you least expect it, even when you have to use your library voice to get your newly found soulmate's attention.
Jenn and her girls were busy getting ready in the bridal suite, her bridesmaids were super attentive and awesome. They even brought a crochet hook to help do the buttons up on Jenn's dress, such a smart idea! Speaking of Jenn's dress, this girl completely rocked her gown. Truly, the dress skimmed her fabulous figure and flared out ever so slightly at the bottom - the epitome of grace and style, Jenn's natural elegance shone through beautifully.
Mike headed on over to the cocktail room to hang out with Dan as he got ready to meet his bride. Dan is one of those guys that just makes people happy, just by being in the room with them. He and his friends were having a blast, just hanging out and enjoying the day.
Dan and Jenn decided to do a 'first look' session, which worked out really well. It's a great option for couples who are feeling freaked out by the pressure of walking down the aisle in front of everyone, and as you'll see below, the pictures say it all. I included a lot of pictures from this part because it's cute to see the anticipation of their emotions.
This is Dan, reacting to the peanut gallery that was watching this beautiful moment take place. :)
Wasn't that gorgeous?
Speaking of gorgeous, check out the perfect winter flower bouquet that Jenn picked out. The dusty miller and subtle silvery hues are absolutely perfect with the deep purple of the bridesmaids dresses.
After a few of the semi-formal formals, Mike and the guys hung out at the bar for a bit and the guys showed of their fabulous socks. It's always cute when people do this, a little bit of fun and personality added to the day.
An example of how we get creative when its minus a million degrees outside and we've got time for lots of bridal photos.
Finally it was time for the ceremony to begin. With everyone relaxed and laughing, the vibe was so good as Jenn's dad walked her down the aisle.
After the wedding ceremony, it was time to find some warm spots to take a few more formal photos. The first spot? The elevator. :)
Finally, it was time for the reception. We've heard a lot of wedding speeches, and a lot of wedding MC's, but its unusual for us to be laughing so hard at the MC's jokes or teared right up at the speeches like we were at Jenn and Dan's wedding.
This is proof that Mike actually never stops taking pictures. Don't worry, this is taken after he thoroughly washed his hands :) Another fun fact about this shot? It placed 7th at the PWPC quarterly wedding contest for Wedding Details.
After the beautiful speeches, comes the dancing, and dance they did. I love watching a couple dance for the first time as husband and wife, its definitely one of my most favourite wedding traditions.
We wish Jenn and Dan the best of everything in the future!
